Edward Morgan, MD, specializes in hip and knee replacements at The Orthopaedic Clinic in Shreveport. Certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery, Dr. Morgan works with injured patients to restore motion with improved agility and strength. Partnering with patients for treatment so they can return to an active lifestyle is his treatment philosophy.
A Shreveport native, Dr. Morgan graduated from Jesuit High School. He graduated magna cum laude from the University of Notre Dame, followed by his doctoral degree from Vanderbilt University School of Medicine. His orthopedic surgery residency was at Tulane in New Orleans. Dr. Morgan completed his first fellowship in orthopedics and sports medicine in Australia, and a second fellowship in adult reconstructive surgery at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota.
In addition to his work in the clinic, Dr. Morgan educates other physicians. He was an orthopedics instructor during his time at Mayo Clinic. He has spoken at medical conferences in the U.S. and worldwide. Dr. Morgan is the author of book chapters for orthopedic textbooks and has coauthored many articles in academic journals. He is currently an assistant professor of orthopedic surgery at LSU School of Medicine and is actively involved in teaching medical students and residents.
Dr. Morgan holds a seat on the board of Louisiana Orthopaedic Association. His memberships include Tulane Caldwell Society, Hughston Society, American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, Louisiana State Medical Society, Shreveport Medical Society and American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons.
When not working with orthopedic patients, Dr. Morgan enjoys sailing, boating, skiing, hiking and traveling.
He is married and the father of a daughter who is currently a general surgery resident at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, Mississippi.
