Henry Hilario, DPM, FACFAS, is a foot and ankle surgeon at The Orthopaedic Clinic in Shreveport where his team takes a comprehensive approach so patients can return to an active lifestyle. Dr. Hilario works with patients born with foot and ankle deformities; who are diabetic; or have injuries of many kinds, including foot and ankle trauma. He specializes in minimally invasive techniques, as well as reconstructive options that include 3D printing technology. Communication with patients is essential so patients understand their treatment and follow-up care that is needed for the best long-term results.
A Shreveport native, Dr. Hilario graduated from Caddo Magnet High School and earned his undergraduate degree in biological sciences from LSU Baton Rouge. He graduated with honors from Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine in Chicago, Illinois. Dr. Hilario completed his podiatric medicine and surgical residency at John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth, Texas, a Level I trauma center. Here he co-authored articles on foot and ankle surgery published in academic journals, authored a textbook chapter, and presented on the topic. Dr. Hilario is board certified by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery. He is a fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons (FACFAS).
Originally from Shreveport, Dr. Hilario graduated from Caddo Magnet High School. He and his wife, Danielle, have two children. In his personal time, Dr. Hilario enjoys soccer, the outdoors and Formula I auto racing.
